Ethik der Konflikte (Vorlesung)

In der Vorlesung werde ich mich mit verschiedenen Typen ethischer Konflikte auseinander setzen. Nachdem ich in einem ersten Schritt moralische Dilemmata und ethischen Dissens begrifflich charakterisiert habe, möchte ich in dem zweiten Teil der Vorlesung konkrete und aktuelle Beispiele für derartige Konflikte diskutieren. In einem dritten und letzten Schritt entwickle ich eine ethische Theorie, die Ethik der Konflikte, die es erlaubt in den von mir beschriebenen Situationen moralisch rechtfertigbare Entscheidungen zu fällen.

Theorien der Willensfreiheit (Fortgeschrittenenseminar)

Geplant ist, das Seminar auf Deutsch abzuhalten. Auf Wunsch der Teilnehmer/innen ist die Seminarsprache Englisch aber ebenfalls möglich.

This course intends to provide an overview of the current research on the philosophy of free will. Leaving aside the traditional philosophical work on free will, this course focuses on the more recent studies fostered by the dialogue between philosophy and empirical disciplines, such as psychology and cognitive sciences. The course will try to show how developments and differences in the theoretical description of free will within these disciplines become integrating part of the conceptual analysis of the concept of free will.

Teilnahmevorraussetzungen: Fortgeschrittene Kenntnisse in der philosophischen Handlungstheorie und die Bereitschaft neurowissenschaftliche Texte zu lesen.

Lecture and Tutorial Introduction to Neurophilosophy

This course provides an introduction to core topics of neurophilosophy. There will be a combination of short lectures and text-based discussions. Students will write an essay and a protocol and discuss it in tutorial.

2 hour lecture with 2 hour tutorial. 3 ECTS points.
