Short Biography

Sofiia has an HBSc degree in linguistics and mathematics from the University of Toronto and an MSc degree in Mind, Language and Embodied Cognition from the University of Edinburgh. During her undergraduate studies, Sofiia was a research assistant at Technologies for Aging Gracefully Lab (PI Dr. Ronald Baecker) and Consciousness and Wisdom Studies Lab (PI Dr. John Vervaeke), as well as a laboratory manager at the latter. Sofiia wrote her MSc thesis on predictive processing and language under the supervision of Dr. Andy Clark. As a Neurophilosophy PhD student at the Graduate School of Systemic Neuroscience (GSN) at LMU Munich, she is further exploring her interest in predictive processing by investigating the possibility of extension of the framework to higher-order cognitive processes.
